Who are some one hit wonders that you feel really shouldn't have been?
For me, Thunderclap Newman first comes to mind. Almost everybody can sing along to Something In The Air...but, that's about it. I don't really know anybody who has heard Hollywood Dream. It's a shame to because it's such a great album.
hmmm...I guess my question wasn't clear. Let me try again.
Thunderclap Newman is known for one song and one song only. They were better than that though...I think they should have gone further.
I don't know if I'm being any clearer...hope so.

I've always enjoyed the Hollywood Dream album as well.
'Accidents' being one of my favorite songs, along with 'Open the Door Homer'. Did you know that Pete Townsend of 'The Who' created 'Thunderclap Newman' to in order to feature their roadies song writing abilities? His name was John 'Speedy' Keen (drums). Future 'Wings' guitarist 'Jimmy McCulloch' was also a member of the band (he was 16 at the time). Andy Newman played keyboards. The album was also produced by Pete Townsend. I actually still have a pristine original white label DJ pressing on 'Track Records'.
But back to your question! Wow, there were so many one hit wonders, and if you listen to the radio at all I'm sure you'd be very familiar with most of these:

These bands were one hit wonders in North America, but some that I've mentioned; Focus, Shocking Blue, and The George Baker Selection, (all three are Dutch) did have other hit singles in the Netherlands.
