Jazz Band Question?(high school jazz band)?
Hi I play piano and take private lessons weekly. In high School i would like to join the Jazz Band and play the Keyboard. So my question is would i have to play in band before or could i just join when i'm a freshman? I am only going into 7th grade so i have a little time to think about it. I appreciate any and all answers. Thank you so much!

Well, it depends on the school. In some school jazz band is a band class, while in others jazz band is an extra band that you either stay before or after class. If it is a school where you have to arrive early or stay after then you will most likely have to be in another band class to play in the jazz band.
But being a freshman shouldn't cause you not to be in jazz band, but again it depends on your school. Hope this helps.
