Linux Mint, Wireless/Broadcom connection help?
Alright so, I have an Acer Aspire laptop, and while installing Linux Mint (Felicia) I messed up the partitioning.... meaning I fully installed Linux and now my Windows Vista is completely gone.
The drive with the Vista backups is gone and I have no disks for it, so my only option is to keep Linux. This is my first time messing with Linux and I know very little about it.
My main problem is that I can't connect to my wireless network.
It says I have a Broadcom B43 Wireless driver, but it's not activated, and whenever I hit 'activate' I a get a blank box with just an error picture in it.
Can anyone help me out? I tried hunting for answers but I haven't found anything that I actually understand.... if anyone can give me a site or something with extremely easy step by step instructions, that would be great.
Apparently it will take some work to get that wireless card working. Here are some websites that discuss how to do it. I would suggest that you also go to the mint forum and get help there because I am sure someone there has solved the problem with that driver and can help you.
