Notwithstanding any opinions about the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame itself...
Jeff Beck - surprised he wasn't already. Obviously a good (and 100% defendable) choice. Little more needs to be said.
Chic - a great disco group, but knowing the RnRHoF I have the sinking feeling that they were nominated strictly because they inspired the bassline to "Another One Bites the Dust," and not on their own merits. Oh well.
Wanda Jackson - A great rockabilly performer and one of the earliest female "rock stars." I'd say she deserves to be in there, and since it seems the HoF is pretty big on Rockabilly, she probably will.
Little Anthony & the Imperials - I'm not as familiar with them as I should be, so I have no comment.
Metallica - oh, don't even get me started here. The second metal band admitted after Black Sabbath's 2006 inclusion should be ...Metallica? What about Judas Priest? Motorhead? Iron Maiden? (Or, if we're getting historical, Steppenwolf?) No, it is absolutely not time to admit Metallica. They're only are on this list because they've been all over the news with Death Magnetic. Give me a break.
Run-D.M.C. - an odd choice, but they do predate Public Enemy by just a bit with the idea of building a rap sound using rock instruments. Interesting to see them on here; I'm fine if they make it. (Though, much like my fears about Chic, I imagine they are mainly listed for the Aerosmith collaboration, which sells them a bit short)
Stooges - About f*cking time! That's all I have to say here.
War - Sure, everyone loves "Low Rider", and "Spill the Wine" was fun, but I personally feel like there are probably some slightly more deserving rock artists who should be farther up the list.
Bobby Womack - Another one whose reasons for nomination are skeptical (he wrote "It's All Over Now", the Rolling Stones' first single). Overall, he's another one I'm less familiar with as an artist, so I'll leave my comment at that.
