I want to rig it up so I can record a video using my iphone on a static line jump (usually using the T-10D parachute) so far I've tried cutting a hole in my breast pocket (didnt work, all I got was the inside of my ACU top and my chest strap and me saying "ugh" on opening shock and grunting again on the landing with no good video) I want to use my phone to record from the command "Hook Up" until I hit the PLF without having to buy some crazy camera equipment. I've just tried so many times to get footage of ME jumping and can't seem to get it right. Help me out battle. . . Im suckin trying to get this to work. If it helps, I am an NCO and I'm pretty tight with most of the jumpmasters when we jump and they may let me slide a bit. So far the only thing that I can see that would work is to 100mph tape my phone to my ACH, but 1SG wouldn't go for that and neither would the jump master.
the only successful attempts at filming i have ever seen from a static line, is a helmet mounted cam, I can't think of any other way that will work, i can well understand your jump master being unhappy with that, clearly their concerns are about the cam flying loose on opening, maybe they will be less worried if your first out? (no one below should the cam drop)
